If I click into a post with unread messages, and then hit the browser back. It doesn't show the envelope as read. That because it your browser serving back up the page out of its cache. If I refresh the page, then it does. Also, I click into a thread and then click on the name of the forum to go back, then it resets.just fine. Only time it doesn't for me, is when I use the browsers 🔙

Big Kev, After a refresh (Ctl/F5) I logged out and back in, saw the dark envelope on the General Forum./Website; I clicked on the latest page (12) and it took me to 11. Chris.

Big Kev, Oh THAT browser back button... I never use it, always go to the top or bottom of the post and hit the main topic (i.e. General, Pre-War, etc.) and then scan that page for 'dark envelopes'. Chris.

When you click on the last post, I believe it takes you to your last read post. Not the last post on the thread.

I noticed that too. For example, when I select Forums from the left navigation and it shows one with unread posts (or even if I select the thread itself from the navigation list), when I click on it, it takes me to the prior page rather than the last one where the latest post is. It does it even on threads where I had never posted before so it can't be going back to my own latest.

I ran a synchronize on the forum database tables. Hopefully that stabilizes what you guys have been seeing. I can't replicate it. I even logged in as the Test User account, which is a regular normal user account and the last post link always takes me to the last post, everytime.

If you click on a post name, not the last post arrow icon. It makes one of three choices. If your have never read that thread, it should take you to the first post. If you have read that thread before, it should take you to last post read, if there are additional new posts since your last read one. If there are not any new post since your last read ,then it goes back to first post. Or I believe that how it's supposed to work.

Not to be argumentative Big Kev, but why would it take you back to the 'last read' post? You've already read it. You want to go to what you HAVEN'T read. (it didn't used to be that way) Chris.

A couple of changes made:

1) When there are unread posts viewing a forum, the link will now take you to the next UNREAD post, instead of the past post. Otherwise, if there are no new unread posts, it will just take you to the beginning of the thread.

2) When using the browser back button, I added code to force the Forum List and Topic List pages to refresh. Thereby refreshing the envelope icons
