Yes, it worked the second time! I was hesitant to try again immediately after the error so as to not get locked out of the site.

Actually you were never able to add an image to a PM. There is no supporting DB table for traditional (old) method for attaching photos.
The insert image button is appearing because of the changes I made to the editor menu. So I'll need to add the back end code to the PM system to support the new image code I've added in the Forums for it

Yes I know but I was able to link an image before from its URL but that’s not there now, or at least I didn’t see it. I had presumed that the image icon would pop up the same dialog box but instead it did nothing at all, not even an error.

This evening I noticed the website pages were loaded much slower than expected.
It was showing over 300 anonymous users browsing the website and 100s of IP addresses in the 3.x.x.x and 18.x.x.x range repeativly loading pages rapidly. All of these are AWS Datacenter IPs. So someone has a bot network running off of AWS that was just slamming the site. So for now I've blocked all traffic from 3.x.x.x and 18.x.x.x. Hopefully that doesn't kill valid user traffic.

Good job! Blocking those IPs should not affect legitimate traffic.
By the way, the old image upload could handle a variety of formats but the new one seems very limited. As Apple devices always make screen captures as PNG, it’s been quite an issue lately with lots of struggling to insert them, especially as it seems to take a long, long time before any error appears. Can the plug-in be fixed to be more flexible in the format types?

It's to encourage people to use jpg.
The attachment box still works.

When making a screen capture on an Apple device, jpg isn’t an option. Typically if I email it to myself, it gets converted automatically to jpg but for some reason, not always. As I am not always home and work without a PC available, png is my only option. I know the image box still works but it doesn’t give the ability to caption a photo.

The "Insert Image" button will now accept PNG files. It will resize and convert them to JPEGs, using lossy compression to keep the file sizes down. This is the same process that has been in place for uploaded JPEGs.
