What's wrong with this car, it has been for sale for a long time, and not many 35 super eight's come up for sale. Maybe the price?

I would definitely say the price, I just don't see it bringing that kind of money in the current market. Eventually the seller will figure it out or maybe not...

Price. Awful nice car though. So many variables. If someone is looking "hard" for a nice pre war Packard in the larger series, then I believe this community has posted several for less money, much less money in some cases. If you include significant post war Packards then $69,000 should buy you a nice Custom 8 convertible, Station Sedan or Carribbean.
Since CL ads are free and can renew so easily, sometimes sellers that don't really need to sell put their car on CL at a "premium" price and if it sells great, if not, no problem. When they get serious about selling a car, it's either going in the CNB, ebay or an auction.

Wow Steve, that '52 200 in Watertown sure looks like familiar. I could buy it and have the beginnings of a fleet.

Two things I noticed about the '47 Clipper Six: The carb cooling tube and the Egyptian ornament. I wonder how well the tube works? Love to have the ornament.

In addition to the tube, there also appears to be a home made heat shield over the manifold. I am surprised all that is needed on a 6 -- or even an 8 for that matter. Wonder what the symptoms were that it was felt all the extra would help. The way the tube is bent it might be feeding cool air from under the car or else angled over to the knockout in the radiator shroud the fresh air vent used.
If it does help then the next owner can make the tube look a little more professional. Packard might have done it using something along the lines of the metal heater fresh air vent tube for cool air or the 356 crankcase vent installation for fan forced air.
