If they're 4-ply polyester cord they'll probably work OK. Stiff, heavy tires will degrade the ride. Nylon cord tires may flat-spot when parked warm.

They are a 6-ply 6.50x16 tire. The old ones were a 7.00x16LT 6 ply tire.

So pretty like for like in construction type. The old ones were tube type, these ones are not.

These are not forever tires. These are roller tires.

Since I need to have the tires mounted, I figured now was a good time to swap over the "pretty" wheels that came with the car. So I pulled these out of basement storage. The existing wheels are pretty rusty, but these are already painted and pinstriped. Depending on what color the car ends up, they may need to get repainted in the future, but for now, they are clean, painted, and rust-free.

Looks good! I typically ask for all balancing weights to be on the back side too which has never been a problem in spite ending up with many weights on one of the very cheap 7.50X16s on my 1951.

I always have them use "stick" weights, so they are generally never visible.

I’ve used the stick-on weights on other cars but the tire shop thought that the beauty rings hugged the wheel too closely for them to be underneath without holding the run away slightly and/or unevenly.

They have always stick weighted the drum side of the wheel, so the beauty rings have never been an issue. Also, completely hidden unless the wheel is pulled from the car.

FedEx dropped off the tires today. For anyone wanting black walls with a narrow tread, and the correct sidewall height, this is an inexpensive option.

I need to do a little bit of bead cleanup on the painted rims, then I will take them off to tire shop to get mounted.

Trunk bolted down to the rack, and new (vintage) trunk latches installed.

You sure know how to spruce up an old car, making it look great without actually restoring it! I continue to be amazed at the speed with which you did all the work and with the end result of a very nice presentable 115-C roadster. The trunk looks very nice installed although don’t forget it’s there when backing up!
