Is (was) the old brown the same shade they used on the steering column and under dash levers, heater, etc?

my steering column is black. the heater is a crinkle grey and the lever is chrome. so I have no idea. it is possible that it was the original paint or it could have been something my grandfather painted. no idea.

I'm pretty sure the original burl and the paint was 1937, can't prove it though.

it sure does look good in the new colors though.

after viewing a few videos of supposedly original interiors of 1937 120 cars on youtube. they seem to be solid chrome on the trim on the dash. I could have done that I suppose, but I like the brown inlay.

this middle trim piece was a total PITA to paint. on the letters I had to paint over them and scrape it off with a razor blade.

got the clock working. the sprung "gear" or whatever you call that thing that moves back and forth was knocked off its axis. so I had to take it apart and set it back up. that was NO small task! lots of patience on that one! used grease to keep the brown off the Packard emblem. used steel wool to clean the emblem up first too. shined up pretty good.

then the spring was not strong enough to pull the mechanism to keep the spring "gear" rotating back and forth. I suspect someone tried to repair this before as the Jewels had screwdriver marks on them. they didn't try hard enough. I cut the spring in half so I could have one with a stronger pull. this worked great. and it does run on 12v negative ground. hella spark on the contacts though. I don't plan on running it anyways as I have a battery cut off switch and it would make it pointless to set the time and with as little as I drive it the clock may run the battery down...no idea though.

anyone have any leads for future purchase of 30.04x2,30.030x2, 30.031x2, 30.014x1, and the ashtrays for each side of the rear compartment with lighter built in?

Henry,
I think it was David Flack who bought 4 or 5 visor arms from me years ago. I don't remember if they would fit your car or not.

Classic Accessoriesclassicaccessories.org has a pair they identify as 30s Packard on their ashtrays, cigar lighter, etc page. They look similar but no idea if they are what you need. Price is inquire so that probably means $$$. Can yours not be repaired or refinished?

Here's a reasonable priced parts car, maybe there's parts you can buy of it, or partner with the Flackmaster.

That car is a 115C. Does it share the same parts Hank needs with his 138CD?

I like it. A very commendable job. It will be most interesting to see how the vinyl holds up.
