Engine bay of the '53 is very nice. Only thing out of place are the chrome acorns head nuts.

I guess I'd include the hose clamps on the radiator hose. And IIRC the spark plug boots available as an accessory were separate pieces and not molded to the wire itself. But I'm being picky, it's a very attractive engine compartment.

I almost freaked when I saw the "original flathead V-8" in the description of the 1954 Clipper until I saw the straight 8 engine in the photo. I think that car is a real steal at that price and I don't think it will be around for very long.

I really like that 1941 110 too. In the Deluxe package, the 110 was close in price to the 120. I have seen one of the '41 Deluxe models and it was a jewel of a car. The performance difference between it and a 120 is almost negligible. Packard's 6-cylinder engines are excellent and the asking price of this car is probably less than it deserves.

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

Here is a 1937 6-cylinder Packard sedan in what looks to be very nice condition. Although it is described as "all original," I kind of doubt that it originally came with wire wheels and those "eye brows(?)" over the headlights. Still a nice car:

I think I saw this car last week in Charlottesville, VA. If it is the same one, I can tell you it is a very fine car.

I'm sure that Packard parts company in Indiana? Ohio? will buy it and part it out.

That would be a great fun project, but a person would easily have $75,000 into it, so it (probably) won't be restored.

I HAVE A QUESTION ON THE PAINT OF THE CAR THE SELLER PUT IN HIS AD. The blue and silver car.

There is a Custom Super Clipper on Milwaukee CL - a sedan - with this blue and silver paint and it is a 40,000 mile car with one repaint "as original".

I don't recall two tone as a Clipper option especially in the Customs. Can someone comment on the "correctness" of two toning and blue/silver?

Silver seems like a color more recognized as 1970's and later, yet here may be 2 examples of silver in the classic era?

If he only had $75,000 in it after he was done, it would be well worth it. Asking prices for finished Classic club sedans are quite a bit more than that.

Thanks. I had no idea!

Can anyone answer that two tone question? I am really curious. There has been a seller on Milwaukee CL selling 2 Clipper Custom Super sedans, one for $18,000 with the blue/silver two tone with the lower miles and a nice one for $14,000 that is single blue. I like the $14,000 one better. I just don't care for the two toning BUT the two tone car only has 41,000 miles while the $14,000 car has I think 75,000.

Maybe I would like the Silver/Blue better in person?
