That maroon speedster is another one of Macauley's playthings - like the white Pan American shown/discussed earlier in this thread. IMHO, the restyling comes off on this one a lot better than what he did to the PanAm.
This speedster is pictured (in B&W) in the Kimes book, pp.552-553, and listed as a 1952 model; I suspect it started out life as a hardtop. The exercise utilizes a variety of elements from 1951-1953, but the ribbed trim is unique to the car.

The Macauley speedster is currently in a collection in New Jersey. I believe it was at Pebble or one of the major Concours this past year.
