Interesting that the link for your work shows the posts in reverse order. I’ve never seen that before. Turned out the sort order was reversed but only on that thread and as the setting is in a pulldown, I’m not sure how it could have been switched accidentally! Anyway, fixed now.

Interestingly enough that is how I have my account set, that is to show the newest post first, or "reverse order." It must have carried that setting over on the link I shared.

At first I thought someone had quoted me before I had posted the comment they were quoting! I never noticed the sort feature before.

Yes, I have mine set the same way. I don't need to read the first post multiple times, or be directed 10 years in the past when checking someone's project blog.

OK, so in my parts for the car I have a bent flat metal with clips attached. I assumed that was the lower bracket for the gasket, it seems to fit but may have been bent. I don't yet have the gasket. But in the photos it looks like they are individual clips. I will grab a photo of what I have next time I am at the storage unit. Thanks.

Do you mean "bent flat metal with clips attached" like #5 and #1 in the below picture? This picture shows what is needed for hardware for my '53 and I suspect yours would be the same.

#1 are the clips that hook into the body and the bottom stainless trim bolts through to. (If the clips are not hooked into the body the exterior trim won't stay in the correct position.)
#2 are the speed nuts that hold on the stainless steel trim piece that goes in the corner right by the back door. Yours may have "400" on it.
#3 these slide into the stainless steel trim and go through to the clips that hook into the body. The little bolts on these are a one time use, that is they are long for assembly and then cut off so the interior trim will fit. The originals are a soft material that are easy to cut. I thought I was being smart and used SS bolts that wouldn't rust, but had to buy a baby set of bolt cutters to nip them off because they were so hard. Before the final install of the stainless steel trim you want to put some butyl, aka dumdum, to seal where the bolts penetrate the window gasket.
#4 are the 8 screws that secure #5 to the chrome trim between the window sections. (I think the 3 little screws are for the upholstery.)
#5 these fit into the gasket between the 3 window sections.

You'll notice that there are 9-#3 but only 7-#1. The very left and right #3 do not use a clip, they use a flat rectangular sort of washer which you can see between the clips and the round washers in the picture.

These little clips need to hook into the body. I had one that bolted the little chrome feature at the bottom of one of the vertical pieces that did not have the holes in the correct place and was not hooked in and it allowed that little piece to sit crooked.

Be sure not to overtighten things as it will distort your exterior trim. Also if it's a bit warmer when you're working on this that will be helpful it will make the seal softer.

Not to belabor the point but with it sorted the default way, it nearly always takes me to the most recent post although once in a while it takes me to the first of a thread and sometimes somewhere in the middle. Maybe the reverse sort that some have set is why so I’ll have to pay closer attention, especially when following a link!
