I may run the Packard up to the Old Timer's Cruise night in Schaumburg this Sunday, to give the car a little drive time before "Old Man Winter" blows in. That cruise night runs year-round, but just turns into a coffee chat (no cars driven) in the Winter months when the weather gets too cold.

Doubt that I can make the Old Timer's cruise night Sunday but agree that we should get together before the snow flies.
The weather has been mild as of late so our chances may be good over the next couple of weeks.

Drove the Clipper up to Schaumburg and then over to Lombard and then back to West Chicago. So lots of local roads and stop lights.

Looks like the months of sitting have caught up with the carb.

Choke or something is sticking and is not fast idling when cold.

Also, it stumbling/staling upon acceleration from a stop, even after it's warmed up. Perhaps it just needs a cleaning and adjusting. Hasn't really been driven much since the PI Meet, so I figure the fuel is a bit stale as well. Put 10 gals of fresh fuel in with the old to help with that.

Lots of winter projects to work on.

Life in a new climate may require adjustment of the choke stat. This is the perfect time of year to do so.

Stumbling/stalling when accelerating from a stop smacks of a vacuum leak - check the integrity of distributor vac advance diaphragm, first.

Before going to the trouble of tearing down the carb, a dose of Gumout or SeaFoam in the fuel tank, with your next fill-up, might help.

Good advice Brian and good seeing you here.
I prefer Seafoam and have used it every year on Best Other.
