I had a free hour tonught before dinner and decided to pull final brake drum apart.
The right rear was just as, if not more, crusty than the left rear. Hopefully I can get this one slammed back together fairly quickly. This one was also missing the strut spring and the eccentric spring snapped of removal. It was fairly corroded. Hopefully the bearing is good on this side as well. Got the final brake done and started with the adjustments on that one.
Maybe I'm missing something, I'm used to just having an anchor pin adjustment on the 54. Im used to working star adjuster to get it till there is a heavy drag and then using the anchor pin adjustment to center the shoes. And then backing off the adjuster as needed. But looking at the manual, all there reference is the .010" secondary shoe gap with no mention of primary shoe gap. But having another eccentric in the mix is a bit confusing. Is there an idiots guide to adjustment on Bendix Type 2 configuration?

Allrighty... I think I managed to get all the drums dialed in as far as adjustments. I'll know once I can get the rest of the system complete and then go drive and test them out.
But for now, it's back on the skates where it will stay while I finish replacing the hardlines. Also, polished up the crusty hubcaps. They all have some degree of road rash, but they cleaned up for a driver, at 20 feet....in fog.

For future reference, here are the Rear and Front Axle seals. I'll also put them in them X-Ref.

I have the convertible top irons on the way to me. But they are missing some parts and all the bows.
Does anyone have any pictures of what the complete assembly looks like? I'd like to figure out what else is missing and how it all assembles. The Factory Part plates only show the convertible sedan mechanism. I know I'd probably have to have all the bows made. But wanted to see what other hardware is on the header bow. I know the castings on the front of the irons that connect with the bow are missing. Thanks to Gary Kulp for sending those top irons and inner fenders my way. Greatly appreciated!

Line-ectmy completed. All hardlines have been replaced new bent-by-me lines.
Just need to bench bleed the new master cylinder and then I can install and bleed the brake system. Also, thanks to a care package from Flackmaster, I have a correct radiator cap. Attach file: Screenshot_20230124_175041_Gallery.jpg (208.41 KB) Screenshot_20230124_175109_Gallery.jpg (149.71 KB)

Here are a couple of photos of the brackets that attach to the header bow. I believe Penn-Dutch Restoration Services reproduces everything for the top bows as I've seen there display at Hershey. www.penndutchrestoration@comcast.com, tel. 717-235-0688
