I loaded up the 2 blocks I am working on and delivered them to the machine shop.
The Twelve I am just getting cleaned so I can give it a through inspection. My one main with the divot has been poured and machined and is on the way. Mailed today In case you are wondering the straight eight is a '33 Pierce that needs a sleeve in #3 due to excessive pitting.

My engine is ready at the machine shop and I will pick it up Friday.
I recently picked up a Motor Dictograph system for my 1608. Even though it isn't a divider car it had the recoiler for a Dictograph system in the armrest. I have included a close up pictures of the recoiler. The recoiler in the car had a short tubular extension. I have I no idea how this thing is wired and what the rectangular box is for. Any technical help is appreciated.

Very nice and looking good! You typically need to make sure your photos are properly oriented before uploading as sideways, they are difficult to see.

Don, many times just clicking on the photo will result in a view in the correct orientation.

Not in my experience as clicking on an image does nothing to the EXIF tags in it that determine the orientation. What I typically do if unsure and using an iDevice is to select Edit, turn the image 90 degrees (even if it shows correctly), save it, then repeat the process with it back to the proper orientation. It sounds complicated but really take just a few seconds to do it and assures without guessing that the photo is right side up.

My experience mirror's JW's, if I click on blue40devil's sideways image, it reopens correctly in a new view.
I was remarking in another forum what a complex casting that Packard Twin Six was in 1932, at the same time Ford was scrapping a huge percentage of their far less complex V8 castings for shifted cores or other faults. Packard's foundry must h ave been absolute state of the art at that time.

Blue40devil,
I found some info posted by member DavidM a few years back regarding the Motor Dictophone 740: uv201.com/Microphone_Pages/dictograph.htm telephonecollecting.org/dictograph.html Attached was a drawing of the wiring DavidM provided. Original thread: packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=14535&forum=1 Hope this helps. - Anthony
