Just checking to make sure that the headlight chrome trim ring is the same on a '48 through '50. I needed one for my '48, and found a '50.

Thanks!

Joey, yes the are the same, except that early 22nd series Custom 8s were painted body color, not chromed.

Are you aware that the parts manual is available on line here and you can answer questions like this yourself? Not that I object to looking it up for you, but its really is a good idea to get yourself familiar with the parts manual.

No, I wasn't aware of a comprehensive parts manual. Can you please point me in that direction? I use my iPhone most of the time when I'm at my shop, and sometimes it's difficult to find the links I need.

Thanks,

This should do it. To seach other similar documents, go to "Packard Literature and Manuals" in the left-hand menu, and then select either by category, or by year.

I actually used my hardcopy of the manual as I find it much easier to use. I went to the pictures in the front and there was one of a later car with the headlight door identified by group number, 4.1311. Going to 4.1311, it identifies all the headlamp doors between the 22nd and 54th series.

That's where I thought it was. I found the parts list, but trying to search through it on a smart phone is an exercise in futility. Best done at home on a computer. Good to know it's there when I'm in a pinch!

Also all of the "Part Plates" are in the Photo Archive for easier access as well.
