Predictor height

First time I have seen this picture which popped up in random photos. Quite an eye opener. I know the lady is in heels but unless she is exceptionally tall as well, the Predictor would appear to be a lot lower in real life than regular production Packards. Anyone remember any specs on the Predictor? Regular cars list out at 62" high. That looks maybe a foot lower based on an average height lady. Considering it was built on the Clipper chassis, I'd almost think the legs are stretched almost straight when seated.

I think that it is a combination of factors that cause the illusion:
- exceptionally tall model (her legs go a long way)
- angle of photo (car to lens)
- black and white vs. color
- lighting, etc.
I agree with you that I have never seen a photo like this of this car.

Never had a tape measure handy, but I've stood along side it on quite a few occasions, I'd say it's modestly lower than my 56 Carib convert. and not quite as low as a Pan American.

You can get a fairly good idea of the height from these photos, especially "Predictor #2".

I stood alongside it at the Stude museum in South Bend and easily looked over the roof. I am only 5'8". It sits much lower than my 400.
I sat in it and it was comfortable. Not at all like a 55-56 T-bird. They had just repainted it Pearl White - looked great!

Look at this picture of two men standing in front of the hood. I would appear they could just slide backwards and sit on the hood.

Keeps getting lower and lower. All the times seeing photos, never questioned the height until I saw the photo of the model standing next to it with the roof only chest high.
