Did you relocate the battery for weight distribution or space restriction or both? Also lightened the front crossmember with holes?
Looks awesome. Sehr sch?n!

Halibrand is probably most famous for wheels like that.

Holes in the front crossmember are 51 and maybe 52 only and let you stick a socket on an extension up there to remove the pan and even the front rod nuts! Wish they had kept that feature.
Those things that look like handles on the trunk are actually some sort of hold-down, Oldtimers tell me the wheels are Halibrand "kidney beans" There are also pictures of the car with regular Packard wheels. I got a set of aluminum wheels from Weld Racing that look just right. The 700R-15 radials from Diamondback are almost 29" tall and make a nice match for the tires in the photo.

Re-reading and looking at the photos; what or how did you modify the gear-start transmission? What kind of radiator are you going to use, and how did you decide which way the head water flange was going to point to?
Was it trial & error, or ??

The Gear Start has a 56 valve body with the shift points altered, and an extra disk in the clutch pack. The bell housing is ventilated to help keep the convertor cool, and I will be using an air cooler also. Thought of using the 56 hi-stall convertor turbines but wasn't sure that would be a good idea with the slower torque curve of the I8.
The radiator, by happenstance and the fact that I am cheap, is out of a 58 Packard that I slaughtered. That solved the height problem, and fitting it with a full fan shroud seemed to bring the cooling capacity in line.
