This is a company I found on the HAMB that supplies automotive insulation. I would like to use their stuff if I get my car to that point before the next ice age

No affiliation, but their stuff looks pretty cool. yuk yuk
They all show metal side to passenger compartment. I would worry about what I put on the doors if it goes in a place where it could get wet if/when a little bit of water comes in through the wiskers of the windows. You don't want to trap moisture between the insulation and metal

The stuff looks impressive and the numbers the fellow got with his test seems to indicate it works -- but the price is impressive too. Not sure the 50' roll would do a Packard if you covered all the surfaces as was recommended. The foam core is nice so at least it couldn't be stepped on and flatten most of it's air pockets and lose that insulating capability. I'd be curious how numbers compared to the stuff from the home center at 1/4th the price.

They say the core is water proof so as long as you run it all the way to the top of the door with the top edge firmly adhered in that area above the window frame, I wouldn't think there would be much worry about water getting behind it.

Mike (Tobs), Amazon is a proven remedy if the price is too high.

BTW Take care of your fingers, the aluminum is knife-sharp.

New wide angle snaps.

May not be apparent but the a/c is located several inches to the right of center. I'm 6'4"+ and wanted a bit more knee room....

I think you should consider cellphone. Readily available, can be inexpensive (depending on your rate plan), and very versatile. In fact, I'm typing this on mine now.

While on the subject of A/C, I'll show you mine. No compressor or hoses to worry about. Even no evaporator. But it sure blows a lot of "air".
