Rear windows slide into place and then retained. To much work to make them go up and down!

If a fella was to install the gasket between the throttle body and bowl backwards on a WCFB because of being distracted or something he might find that the metering rods stay up in the power position at all times and he gets around 8 mpg. Just sayin'.......

Getting to be very pleased with how she drives. The 700R-15 Yokahamas are terrific; steer light as a feather even with the quick ratio box and ride quite well. Am rejoicing that I took the time to box the side rails on the frame as the car is wonderfully tight.

Back in the earlier development days I had a heating problem because of the smaller radiator core mandated by the reduced height. The car could not long idle without heating. To compensate, I made a full boxed fan shroud but kept the original 4 blade fan as I hate the sound and power loss of big fans. This has proven a big success as the car now runs cool at all times. Something to consider for cars with perpetual heating problems or if installing air.

Have only to install a door panel and some weatherstrip and she's done. The list of tweaks and diddles is now down to one page. Prettying up some paint issues will have to wait til after Detroit. More photos soon.

Greetings from Detroit. A fine meet is underway. Spent an interesting afternoon at the proving grounds. Only wish the high speed track was still there....

So, the car did get done in time tho it about did me in. The drive out was delightfully uneventful with no issues whatsoever. The car has been very well received except by a couple of cantankerous barnacles.

Here are a couple of the last build shots. Be sure to catch the luggage tag. (Photos enlarge if you click on them) The last shot is at the proving grounds and the structure is the old timing tower. Suddenly it is 1954.

The car is outstanding Ross! I would be interested in seeing a picture of the fan shroud if you get a chance.
