I'd wonder if the guy had the proper tools. I don't recall seeing any of the photos of stainless from other exhaust vendors having problems like that.

No experience here but IMO, you might have a bit of turbulence in the exhaust flow because of hitting the sharp or narrowed areas & corners. Couldn't say if there would be enough of a restriction to have it something you would notice or hear though. I think the biggest problem is cosmetic.

Riki,

Those look pretty bad. I'd be embarrassed to send out headers with tubes that looked like that.

Riki,

Very well possible to have burn through or other problems because those "wrinkles" are stress points and inside the pipe, they will be sticking up into the hot exhaust gas stream. I'll bet they don't last as long as mild steel tubing with proper mandrel bends -- which was the whole point of stainless steel in the first place.

I'll be using mild steel on my headers because I don't have the EQ (bender or welder) to do stainless. With proper high temp paint, they should last a long time.

Some time ago I bought a stainless exhaust system for my '55 Patrician and the workmanship was miles above what you have pictured. Mine looked very professionally done. Where did you find this supplier?
