Hi Guys,

In prepping my body for paint, I noticed something about my trunk. From underneath, it appears there's a well for the tire. But, on top (inside the trunk), it's as if someone welded a flat piece of sheet metal over this well. All pictures I've seen have the wheel sitting flat and not in a well. The photos also show the trunk with this well covered, so I can't verify it's existence.

I'm hoping someone has a photo or can at least tell me it's there and what it's for.

Maybe someone stashed some cash in there for me to find. LOL

Thanks,
Rich

1941 110 Club Coupe.

Sorry about that.

I just looked through the project files. I saw a trunk well on Mal's 1941 120. What's it for? Does it have a cover, etc.

Rich

It's possible that they used the same trunk floor as the senior models. Our 1941 180 formal sedan was that way, too. For a Senior car without side-mounts, the spare mounts in the back of the trunk, upright. On your car, I believe it lays flat, with a shelf built over it. Yes?

Rich, if nobody else can help you, I'll post pics of a ZIS as late payback for the Lend-Lease.
