PMCC donated the first Packard to Lehigh University about 1935 and there it remains to this day. Back in 1999 it was out and about, driven sparingly both at the Burn Foundation Concours and at the Packard Centennial. Kind of surprised you didn't know this, it's survival is no secret.

It was on display at the Pebble Beach concours (not concorse) that year too. I saw it being driven off of the green.

Kind of misleading in that it's not a Porsche. It was designed and/or engineered by Porsche, but it wasn't his company and the car wasn't called a Porsche. Mr. Porsche also worked for Mercedes and Auto Union, but we don't consider those Porsches either.

Great find, though. and neat car. I'm not sure I'd want to be in it when it's going at its top speed.

For those with an interest in the very early Packards, nothing comes close to Terry Martin's little book "Packard - The Warren Years", it's described in the Packard bookshelf on this site. Terry, also the author of the first 4 chapters of the Kimes book, came across a trove of new information after the Kimes book was published and thus this is a more accurate source of information.
