Owen Thanks for the suggestion I haven't heard anything bad about them so i think that the set will be sent out next week.


Martin Thanks for the info I looked at my chassis again today and the more I look at it the worse it looks in addition to having the wrong side of the frame finished nicely, the part under the body, I also see more clearly many spots were there isn't any paint covering the primer. I can't even go bsck to the guy he has gone belly up shortly after doing the chassis. Oh well I guess you get what you pay for. Any way how are things in Lock Haven Pa. My daughter graduated from there quite a few years ago. I remember the trains very well. LOL. That is one of the reasons this project has been set aside for so long.

Things are doing OK in L.H. although we had a bad hail storm a couple nights ago but that should help business a bit. Not that I wish for these storms to come along, but it happens. The powder coat can be painted over if need be also.

Hi all

It has been some time now since a post. I finally sent the clutch & pressure plate to Ft Wayne. and just got it back. Will post some pictures and have quite the story about the USPS.

However what I would like to ask if anybody has a picture of an original distributor holding clamp and also of the placment on the block as to rotation location.

Now to the story. I sent the clutch pressure plate & disc to Fort Wayne. I received a call from BArney telling me it was finished and how I wanted to pay. The yurn around was really fast jjust like they promised. After several days passed I called about my parts. Barney said they were sent and received. I told him I never got them. The street I live on is only 3 blocks long, 1 in the town I live in and two in another town with the same zipcode with no cross street between them. So after a little detective work, and getting very little assistance from the USPS except to reporting it to the supervisor of my area. I located the parts on the porch at the end of the second block. The difference being 1101 for me and delivered to 1001. I called Barney and told him to hold off building a replacement because I located the original. I also explained to him that when the zipcode is typed in to the computer generated labels it changes the name of the town to the larger city. My town shares many zip codes with other areas & towns. However The name on the label was correct as well as the address and the zip plus 4 was correct. The folks at 1001 never even knew it was there as they do not use the front entrance. All ended well and I gave the supervisor an ear full about the delivery person not being able to read or even identify the correct address & zipcode. I am pleased with the service and response from Ft. Wayne, their service was quick and their response to the problem was great offering a replacement. I would highly recommed them because of this experience. I will attach pictures and everyone can see their workmanship & quality.

Hey folks it is about time I returned to the forum. Awhile back I posted pic of my running boards for comparison to another blogger. Attached are some pics of the welding and rework process. "I HOPE" I had to have a few dies made for the attaching plates and the other piece probably a stiffener. After all the welding and straightening is completed off to the powder coater, hopefully my other pieces will be finished. The radiator shell and other small items are there presently.

Very nice, Fred. You are doing those boards justice. Did you say you had a die made for the board profile? Impressive.

Yes the welder I have is a mechanical genius. He told me he had to make 2 dies one for the running board contour & one for the mounting brackets. He is a full time worker & does this in his home shop. The guy is great and he will be doing the inner fender to body rebuilding when I get to that too. I will post more pics as they progress. Hopefully soon they will be on their way to Hunley.

Next pieces to go to the welder are the side splasher panels from the engine compartment. I was able to get the a copy of the original drawings from the archive vault at the museum. Now to get them back in original design. That is the project.

I will be looking for a good picture of the piece screwed to the radiator frame to get that in order too. That flimsy one with the tab mountings. Mine was cobbled at the bends and took a little straightening out, then that will get blasted and powder coated.

Does anybody have/know the maximum diameter of the brake drums. I will be sending those out shortly also.

Hmmm.....the engine splash pans that I am inquiring about are (engine to frame) numbers 348883(RH) and 348922(LH)

I am particularly looking for a LH, as I have nothing to go on there...
