Want to do some rewiring but can't determine various wire gauges. Gauges appear to be from #10 -#16 (excluding battery cables of course). Unable to find conversion chart to relate wire diameters to gauges. Anyone have a source for this chart? Thanks

I expect the majority of the loom will be similar if not identical to the 41 -180. If so, while the actual wiring runs are not as distinct or as clear as those shown on the A.E.A chart available on the PAC site, the 41 wiring chart on this site has the wire gauges the factory used listed on page 3. You should be able to compare charts and runs to dig out the appropriate information for your car.

This article by Chris Wantuck and posted here with his permission may be helpful. Also if you know the candlepower for lamps or amperage draw a chart from Packard Electric for 6-volt systems is attached.

Somewhere on this site is a wiring diagram and also sizes and colors. I know it is in the Packard service letter listed as Vol 13. No 15 Dated August 1,1939. It is titled as a special edition called Service Information for the 1940 cars.

Fred D.

I Don't know how to link it or even find it because I am using my I pad. Big fingers small keys & no patience. With this thing.

Hope this helps.
