Where are you located? Perhaps we can find a dual-cowl-phaeton in your area that you can look at personally.

Thank-you for your quick response West. I am in Northern California. I found an owner a few hours away. I plan to see him in a few weeks. I'm just being alittle anxious. Wanting to see the missing puzzle piece(s) before I turn it into a day trip and drive ~500 miles or so round trip to visit him. No computer or camera or cell phone for that matter on his end. Again thanks. Scratching my head, would just like to see what I'm missing.

Hi 3612:
That part is called the Tonneau Cowl Clamp Part 176314 and Tonneau Cowl Clamp Bracket and Bumper 176315. They are the same part number for the Dietrich designs from 1930 through 1934. There was a 34 on loan to the Frick museum in Pittsburgh. They may be able to help you. In fact the owner might even be willing to loan you his pieces for reproduction or put you in touch with somebody in the area that can make copies of his. He's a good guy. I'm sure if you look around you can find one given there are so many fakes. In the old days they were much harder to find. Hope this helps.

Thank-you Tim for the numbers and your detailed expertise.
I will first try my immediate avenues before I place any burden on a kind soul. It's too early to tell if I have to throw my hands in the air. Again just alittle anxious and very curious of what I believe is called "Packard engineering". 36V12

There's an original un-restored 1934 dual cowl in the Packard museum downtown Dayton. As soon as I get back from Montana (next Wednesday), I'll run down there and take some photos for you.
