Valves are at the shop with the engine. I will check them when I pick them up.

Nothing to get exited about by most, but it's nice when you can take a junkyard starter and totally rebuild it for less than $100.

Working on the Delco Generator and getting all the suspension parts prepped, painted, and rubbers installed. We are supposed to have a warm up to 70 this weekend, so I hope by Monday to have the suspension back on the frame less T/L, that will have to wait for spring unless we get a few more nice days up here in the gloom belt.

Engine still in the shop, called today but nothing to update.

Troy, beautiful job on the starter. All that's missing is the rubber boot over the end of the solenoid. Impressed with your work on this Packard. Thanks for sharing all your work with us.

well I guess i lied. Generator parts did not come in till late so It wont be finished up til tomorrow.

I did get all of the remaining suspension painted and I will have the rubbers installed tomorrow and ready for assembly this week end.

I found a Huge crack in one of the rear stabilizer bars after blasting. I guess I will call Gerry and get one coming.

I need to un-crate the Long Torsion Bars tomorrow and get them painted and ready to go on.

Planing on a trip to the Chrome Shop Friday, going to take the Valve covers and probably the front and read bumpers. Most of the trim looks like it could only use a buffing, but I will let them tell me what they think. See what they quote on the Reynolds Wrap, it needs new life and a good polish before the pain staking task of painting the black lines.

...... Reynolds Wrap, it needs new life and a good polish before the pain staking task of painting the black lines.

You might reject this idea because of authenticity, but using an appropriate width of black vinyl striping tape is quicker, easier, and probably more permanent.

I wish I had the patience of Hank to document as I go, I am just too stubborn and want to get to the finished product.

Anywho, Looks like this generator had a fire, I cleaned a lot of black carbon soot off the front end and pulley. The Armature is beyond toast, no Rewinding this one, replaced with new coils, new armature.

I have new tags and rivets on order to complete the job.

Carb Rochester 4GC I got off Ebay for $25 is all torn down and I have the body sent out to get re-Anodized, should have that back by next week and get that back together. Local Corvette and Classic shop going to get me a set of tags for the carb. Once I have it running, I will take it to them to dial it in.

Tomorrow is finish up on the suspension prep for assembly on the frame, and steering components.

the main reason for my patience is to document my restoration (my first ever) and to hopefully repay the help I get on this website and pass the knowledge on to someone else. I do donate when I can, but I hope my excessive pics help as well to make up the difference. looks like my blog may have helped you more then once and that is all that matters.
