That's how mine look too - except the rounded part point UP to conform to the fender. There also is a rubber hump on the back side under each bolt hole.

I ordered the 27 piece hood pivot & bumper set for my 1948 Deluxe Touring Sedan 2262 from Kanter. The quality of the bumpers are superb ! But, just wondering - the 11 bumpers that go across the cowl, are a little different than the originals on my car. Mine are flatter and wider than the pointed ones sent me. Also, the set includes 6 hood pivots. My car has only 4 - Two on each side. Is the early 48 different than later ? Thanks

Could be some things are different early vs late but could also be chassis type. You might check out group 0.0015 in parts manual to see what is needed on your car. Your 2262 deluxe is on the 2211 chassis so mentions 4 of one type bumper whereas a 2206 chassis has 6 of the same item. That might be the item under discussion.

The cowl bumpers I can't say. I got my 47s from Steele and those seem to be the same as what is on the car. Perhaps yours have been flattened from use. If you change them all then doubt if anyone but a real expert would know the difference.

Howard - Thanks - You are right - The Custom 2206 requires 6 pivot bumpers - My 2211 requires 4. The Custom engine compartment ( and hood ) must be longer on the Custom, right ? And the cowl bumpers are possibly flattened from use.

How about the Bonnet Prop -0.0091 (what color ) and the Prop Rests -0.0094 ( what color )? Have one prop rest down to bare metal , backside looks like it might have been plated originally ?

Bright Cadmium or perhaps Zinc plated, at least on my 22nd and 23rd series Custom 8s.
