I am using Miricle Paint from Bill Hirsh.hirschauto.com/
They have two types, one is very thick heavy duty coating the other is more paint like. I am using the second one. I have some of the thick stuff also but have something special planned for it later on.

I think you will find that the rubber on the lower A-frame is just fine. Externally it looks ratty, but others have discovered that the rubber internally has not deteriorated.

Don't beat on the bushings. Either use a press and/or cut out the centre and then slot the out metal shell to relieve pressureand then drive it out. This one of those suspension jobs where too big of a hammer can do damage.

Wait a minute. You're working on a LOWER control arm. I don't think anyone has found a bushing to fit that yet.

Then what am I seeing on Max Merritt's web site?
Search by either one below Group # 15.3035 Part # 443795 Its says "CONTROL ARM BUSHING - INNER" The parts manual I downloaded shows that part number as the "Bushing Assy-Support Arm Inner" for the lower arm. The upper arm has the same group # but the part number is 443244 (which is also on the Max's website.

Max had the lower inners.
I'm not sure what PackardV8 was thinking but the inner bushings, both upper and lower, have pretty much been continuously available, it's just that we hear a lot less about the lowers because their service life seems to be so much longer than the uppers. For those who might be interested in replacement bushings in polyurethane, I know that Dwight Heinmuller has been working on a project to do this for a while, if you're interested you might contact him. He already supplies the V8 Watts linkage bushings in polyurethane and may be also considering the torque arm donuts, also in urethane. When installing upper or lower inners, don't forget to "neutralize" the suspension before final tightening or your TL may be constantly fighting against their neutral point.

Still sand blasting parts that I can not paint due to the cold weather. I'll just pile them up until spring.
Began removing everything on the rear end. The rubber cushions under the rear end support arm may be reusable. The u-bolts sure don't want to come off though. The metal sleeves over the u-bolts have rusted together. I've read where others have had this issue. I don't want to damage them so I may just leave it all intact, clean the whole thing up paint it as is. Can anyone think of any reasons not too?
