What is interesting is the lack of a TP number
Interesting indeed, but not unheard of; two or three others have been reported. Thanks for the info.

I see this is a a 291 fairly early car and I was told there were a number of cars with blank TP s. I saw the production line photo in O_D s earlier thread which seems to show some 55s with the triangles with no #s between. These photos were most likley p r pix taken at the beginning of manufacture as The amount of protective equipment for the workers and the cleanliness of the line seemed out of the ordinary for mass production runs.
I am still requesting owners or anyone with knowledge of any 1955 cars with t p s starting with a 2 or 3 or any thing besides a C, D or 0 to get in contact with me. You can supply vin and T P if you like or just series and first 3 of tp for me if you prefer. ie 5562 has 2XXXXX . etc thanks

It would be interesting to know at what point in each 55 models that the front stamping of paint and trim codes stopped and the rear raised stamping began. Maybe as of a certain date?

Here is a '56 Exec 4 dr. It's engine & column and rear clip are gone and it has remnants of factory air. I was told that it came from the Chicago area. The heater core came home with me. Shows 66K on the clock. The trans is still there & is supposed to be good.

From a '56 400. It has been sitting for 20+ years. Front clip, engine & trans are gone. Perhaps I will grab the window motors?

Thanks for the #s. Photo was a bit less clear than hoped for, did I read the Executive number correctly as D34133?

Owen, near as I can tell, it is an X or a K.

Thanks, I'll assume I have it correctly, no X or K ever used in Packard's theft-proof numbers. Always 6 characters starting in 1929 with perhaps 000010 (000051 survives) and thru 99XXXX in the 23rd series. Then in the 24th series rather than go to 7 digits they preceded the number (now 5 digits) with a prefix, A, then B, then C, and finally a D.

Did they always use an alpha in the 5670 series?
