Hi all, I just about have my car out of the paint shop and I am gathering all the interior parts. I seem to have run into a question. The car is a '39 110 4dr, the question is... were there horizontal weather strips on both the inside of the window reveal molding and the inside of the actual door. The ones that were factory stapled to the inside of the window reveal were all there but I can't find any trace that there were ever horizontal weather strips on the outside of the windows. I've looked back through all of my parts and don't find anything so, some further information will be appreciated.

John, if you can post some photos of the area you are discussing, I'll contact a friend of mine here in MT who has an original 39 110 and see what I can find out. I have a 39 120, but it has been reupholstered sometime back.

Also you might want to contact Terry Weiss there in Tyler. Terry is a great Packard mechanic and was pretty active in the North Texas Packard Club when I lived in Dallas ten years ago.

I have a '39 110 sedan and it has no indication of having weatherstripping on the outside of the windows. I DID install some of the same material as used on the inside, in both cases using black pop rivets. Perhaps the original design used a 'lip' on the gasket that holds the glass into the bottom track. My glass was replaced so don't know for sure.

While at the Salado Texas Packard meet I had taken some photo's of a '39 all original, 26,000 mile, 110 4dr. I looked back at them and you can clearly see that it does not have any outside weather strips on the windows so I suppose that would answer my question. I also think that I am going to add some to the outside, it just seems like there should be something there. Thanks for everyone looking.
