I've been assisting on the 2016 PAC National Meet in Traverse City, MI and plan to have your socks charmed off of you when you visit. I've directed 2 national PAC meets in Detroit (2006 & 2013) but this is a true vacation destination and will be packed with fun for everyone.

My wife and I get to the TC area about 3 times a year. I was up there about a week ago and will probably go back for a leaf, color tour in a few weeks. We love this area and I think you will too.

Our host hotel is the Great Wolf Lodge and information about discounted room rates can be found here:packardclub.org/download/2016_National_Meet.pdf

Not sold yet??? Then look and read what others are saying about Traverse City, MI

It's Official! Michigan's M-22 Wins Best Scenic Autumn Drive!

10best.com/awards/travel/best-scenic-autumn-drive/

So what does this have to do with the 2016 PAC National Meet????

Answer: Route M-22 is our driving tour on Monday, June 13th.

Ok, so it won't be autumn but you will soon discover why this backroad, country tour is something special. We will drive west out of Traverse City and head for M-22 and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.

M-22 parallels the Lake Michigan coastline and is one of America's most beautiful tours. It brings visitors through the peaceful countryside and along the lakeshore, past small villages, wineries, galleries and, of course, countless trees.

Just another reason to come to Traverse City next June.

SPECIAL NOTICE!!!!

The host hotel, the Great Wolf Lodge Resort, I now completely full - our allotment of 150 rooms per night are now gone. If you want to stay at this hotel, then you will be paying the full rate.

However, the Marriott Courtyard - Traverse City http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/tvccy-courtyard-traverse-city/ is now available at our group discount.

PAC was allotted a block of 30 rooms per night - 15 rooms with one, king-size bed and 15 rooms with two, queen-size beds. Call (231) 929-1800 and say you are with The Packard Club to receive the discounted rate of $159.00 + tax per night - a savings of $40 per night!

Breakfast is available at the hotel with a "Grab-n-Go" at $5 or a hot, full American, breakfast at $8. The Courtyard is located only one mile south of the Great Wolf Lodge at the northwest corner of M-31 and S. Airport Road. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and across the street from the largest shopping mall in northern Michigan.

For whatever reason, this is turning out to be the largest PAC National Meet in more than a dozen years. This is a GREAT vacation destination and it is becoming a challenge for PAC to keep pace in finding hotel space for all of those who want to attend.

For the first time ever PAC now has ONLINE registration. Now you have two methods to register: Online or traditional Mail-In.

Link to PAC online registration:
secure.cornerstonereg.com/pac2016meet/purchase.asp

Link to PAC mail-In registration:

Notice that the Monday night Welcome Dinner is FREE - courtesy of Hagerty Insurance. The Hagerty family has invited us to dine at their private car collection and restoration shop.

And don't forget the free driving tours on Monday and Thursday. The tour on Monday is to the Sleeping Bears Dunes National Shoreline and the Leelanau Peninsula. The tour on Thursday is along the Mission Peninsula with stops at vineyards and a private car collection.

Glad to hear you'll be there for a few days, looking forward to meeting you again. I'll be there the entire week but as of this point in time it appears unfortunately that I'll be without one of my Packards, flying out and back and just too far and expensive to have the '34 shipped out and back.

Hello Big Kev:

Glad to hear you can make it. As I mentioned earlier this is turning out to be the largest PAC National Meet in a dozen years.

You'll soon see why Traverse City/Sleeping Bear Dunes area is the highest rated vacation spot in America.

Do you have to be a PAC member to attend or is the public welcome? Do you know of any camping areas nearby?
