Does anyone have any pictures, or can anyone tell me where to find pictures, drawings, instructions, ect of the hot water heater Packard offered in 1934 ? Possibly the '32, '33. and '35 heaters were the same ?
On my dash I have a Packard script escutcheon plate with the name Tropic Air beneath Packard, and it appears to be the On-Off switch...key activated. The firewall shows 2 side-by-side holes for the hot water to pass through the heater then return to the engine, but if there ever was a heater, it got replaced by the installation of a radio. Any and all info appreciated. Thanks.

No heater info but do have 34 radio install instructions. Won't help the question but you could check your car to see if the radio is installed per Packard. Since it appears the radio covers most of the center firewall area I wonder if it was assumed the Kelch heater would be installed or retrofitted on radio equipped cars. There does appear to be room on the right of the radio to have a heater or else shift the radio and have the heater more in the middle.

The 34 accessory catalog available for download in the literature section shows the hot water heater in profile but you can't tell from the photo where it is located side to side on the firewall. Classic Accessoriesclassicaccessories.org has what they are calling an early (mid to late 20s) Tropic Air heater on their website but no idea if it was still the same in 34.

I actually have a similar switch on my dash, but it doesn't have a light in in it, just a key hole and of course the Packard scrip and then the words tropic Air underneath the key hole.
