1956 Clipper Battery Size

I remember seeing a posting about this but cannot locate it now! In any event, my question is slightly different: without needing to know the proper size right now, does anyone know if a Group 27 battery will fit a 1956 Clipper's battery tray? This is to be a temporary arrangement as the two other cars I'm also working on use Group 27 and I want to buy only one battery for now as I'm trying to only get these cars runnable again.

I use a group 27 in Best Other.
If the group 27 has ridges along the bottom for mounting you will have to trim them off. I'll take a pic later tonight.

Be careful that the battery is not too tall. The front, negative, battery post comes very close to the inside of the hood when it is closed.

It seemed to me in dredging up decades-old memory that this car had a Group 27 in it at some point but I appreciate the confirmation! One of my mid-'60s cars does need the hold-down ridges while the other uses a top strap like Packard so I'm hoping to find a battery that will work temporarily for all.

Thank you for the suggestion but I have no interest in Optima if for only that I keep the battery charged by a 100 watt solar panel in parallel with several others when I'm not there and they must all be of the same technology.

group 29 fits, to use top bracket, you need to remove ridge around top, or get a beat up top bracket, and modify it,

The original battery was a group 60, NLA except from the boutique battery suppliers. But Exide sells a Group 60/64, same height and width as the original Group 60, about 1.5" shorter.

FWIW I use a 24F, a little shorter in the box & no problems with any clearances.
