Just on the general topic of boat tail speedsters, the 1931 Hudson Greater Eight boat tails are interesting cars - coachwork by Murray. They are clearly absent the complex lovely sheetmetal rear curves of the 734, but nevertheless good-looking IMO. This one owned a while back by a friend here in New Jersey. Restoration was by Grey Hills in Blairstown, NJ.

I finally got a chance to spend a few hours in my shop this evening. I rough cut out the 3 floor boards and the master cylinder access plate and marked them for bead roller. Tomorrow I will use the old bead roller I have refurbished.

It has been a couple of weeks since I have found more than an hour or so at a time... too much work and life..... go figure ☹️
I have been able to get everything buttoned up for the body frame and the cowl. One more floor panel and I will be ready to start the body. Yesterday I bought an old McCulloch supercharger. I may set up the old straight eight for it. Anyone else know of early blowers on early Packards?

If you use the search function you should find an old thread about this factory experimental 6th Series big 8 with supercharger. There have been one or more articles in print about such engines years back but I don't recall that they had any actual performance data. The experts on the 6th and 7th Series Speedsters would be the folks to ask. I believe I have all of Packard's patents, when I get a chance I'll check them for info. Beautiful engine. I wonder where the generator will go? That timing chain is going to be asked to do extra work. Still, a beautiful looking engine.

The Packard based Speedster in post #71 is supposedly on a'29 Speedster chassis #626 which is 126" wheelbase. The car pictured is very very long, perhaps 140".
Thoughts?
