Dash and instrument cluster lights are another place where the old fabric and rubber insulation shrinks back and/or falls away leaving bare wires exiting the center hole in the shell. The old plastic or vinyl insulation on the later cars shrinks too. All is well until you hit a bump large enough to jar the wiring or you go reaching under the dash for some reason and move the wires. Then you get to figure out why no dash lights or the headlight circuit breaker keeps cycling on and off.

Elefant,
when I had my Packi accepted by the German T?V I didn't need the 4-way flashlights (Warnblinkanlage). Only the headlights had to be replaced to asymetric versions (VW fitted). Otherwise it remained (almost) original from '49.

Pls get in contact with me, if needed
Alexander

I had to switch to asymetrik light also (used some limora parts, that do have the same rounded shape as the sealed beam and no H4 on the front), the indicator and hazard warning now do have an orange light and some reflectors have to be fixed in the back
