I don't recall any spacer behind the fan pulley! I believe the pulley should bolt directly to the flange.

Agreed. I think that pump may be for the single groove pulley or possibly is the AC version with the hub set for use with the dual groove AC only pulley which has the extra length in front to move the fan away from the compressor drive belts.

My fan pulley is one piece with two grooves for the fan belt and the P/S belt. In speaking with the folks at MM, it seems like there are two seperate pulleys, one for the fan and one for P/S, and the P/S pulley fits inside the fan pulley, similar to the way the P/S pulley sits inside the balancer. They fit tightly together and look like one unit. For those with P/S, is this how yours is put together? It might be that my pulley is fabricated and that might be my problem.

As PackardDon and HH56 have reported, my '54 Convertible had no coolant pump pulley spacer either. I replaced the coolant pump a few years ago. The balancer/coolant pump drive pulley nestles into the balancer/power steering pump drive pulley and they are two different pulleys, not interchangeable. I've attached a couple of photos, hope they're helpful.

This clears it up completely. Apparently I have a substitute pulley that is significantly different. This is just as described to me.
Thank you.

You're welcome and I hope you can source these pulleys quickly and easily.
