Green Engine enamel color

Does anyone know the engine color of the 1952 Packard Patrician and where it can be purchased ? I found something somewhat similar called Pontiac blue engine enamel at Local car parts store but it was not quite the same.

52 engines were grey. Hirschhirschauto.com/Engine-Enamels/departments/2/ has the Packard color in quarts as probably does Kanter and maybe Max Merritt. Several have reported that Massey Ferguson grey tractor color is very close and a good match to the Packard grey. If you have a Tractor Supply store in your town they carry it in spray cans as does Amazon and some other places.

Your engine has clearly been repainted at some point as the color is not even close to the green that earlier models used. As Howard said, it should be grey as all were in 1952.

Thanks for the follow up all. Attached is An extra marine cable that appears to be solid copper. Do You believe that this is a better option for the battery cable For six volts? The copper alone measured 3/8 inches in diameter. thanks

Minimum size recommended for 6v is 0 gauge which is .342 in diameter. 00 gauge is better and is what most of us ask for when we buy or have cables made. 00 ga diameter is .364. If your extra cable looks to be about 3/8 that works out to .375 which means the cable is probably at least a 0 or more likely 00 gauge and is adequate. Just make sure the connections are clean when you install it and no green corrosion appears in the strands of wire under or around the crimped or soldered area at the battery terminal.

6v starters pull a lot of current and voltage drop becomes a real issue with 6v ignition systems. If the cables including the one going to the solenoid is on the smaller side or the battery is barely able to sustain the cranking amps that too will cause issues with slow cranking speed and a large voltage drop. Too much voltage drop and any dirty connections can reduce the spark from adequate to so marginal it is barely able to fire the plugs.
