When replacing the front crankshaft rope seal in the timing cover with the new "perfect circle" seal, do I fully seat the seal in the retainer or leave it flush with the retainer face?
TIA,
John

Given a 1/16" or so leeway, as long as the seal will ride on a smooth & polished portion of the balancer, you will be OK.
Been there, just did that... Use a little sealer on the crank snout too.

Thanks. I figured as long as it was on a "good" portion of the crank it would be okay.
