These look like a great alternative to the "Gabriel" no-name shocks that are made in Mexico. Pretty underwhelming...
Thanks for posting up!

These shocks are NOT suitable for a Torsion Level Packard. They are heavy
duty and are TOO STIFF. Torsion Level Packards use a shock with a 1" internal piston. Gabriel and Monroe do not make shocks that light duty, which is what TL Packards should have. USE KAYABA (KYB) front KYB 343127, rear KYB 343149. This set will fit perfectly all 1956 Packards and Clippers. For 1955 models, the rear shocks will fit fine, but the front shocks must be modified. Lop off the lower cross bar and weld in its place a stud from any shock.

Dwight I bought yours shocks and they are way to floaty..
Plus . the lower bar. Is to short. These are not stiff. Packard had 2 types of bars. One light one heavy duty And shocks. One light one heavy duty. The shock was a heavier.one. .. It's in the parts book. Let the owner decide. . I have the blueprints.

Those cars always had a unique ride quality. The conventional suspension had the firm ride. The press commented on it and how it took some getting used to. And if the suspension parts are worn that throws the system out of whack. I don't know if putting stiff shocks on those cars can cause rebound problems for the torsion bar links.
Today's cars ride like crap. I keep telling these guys if they would give a car like the Dodge Charger a soft ride they would sell because people are buying pickup trucks for bathtub 1948 Buick ride.

For whatever value you choose to give it, be reminded that Bob Allison, the inventor of the Packard TL system, in his later years advised against the use of heavy duty shock absorbers.

My experience with that suspension, when the worn suspension parts are replaced, especially the upper control arm bushings, there is nothing I found abnormal about the ride quality.
I don't push Packards into powerslides like I can a British MG, Triumph, or Jaguar so that aspect I can't comment on, but for normal use I think Torsion Level makes for a great riding car.
