the little C washer that holds the E-brake lever onto the brake pad....well, i lost one...can't find it anywhere...sux....where would one get a new one....considering these breaks were probably used on many different types of cars back then.

sorry for all the silly question lately....but i am kinda pissed i lost this piece. it is always the small pieces you loose! DANGIT!

Don't remember what it looks like but if either of these and you have an Orchard hardware in Texas they stock several sizes. Otherwise McMaster-Carrmcmaster.com/ has a selection of just about any type you need--search for circlips.

if you look at Kev's blog you can see where they were talking about him smashing it down to make sure it stays on. great pic of it there. i think it is in my sand blast cabinet, but i looked through it and couldn't find it....i will have to sift it to make sure. i can't find a part number for it. only the part number for the whole piece. 1.415.....

if i can't find it, i will probably call Max just to make sure they don't have an original laying around....if not i will check lowes, sometimes they have crazy stuff like this. and third i will order this one, but i will need to take my dial to the groove to measure the size i would need. i hate loosing hard to find parts....DANG!

i don't know why i care so much, it isn't like anyone will every see the brakes anyways...i guess i am just silly LOL

course i could grind off those ears on the back of that one to make it sorta match the original...told you i am silly....

Probably under 1.4155 & is the retainer 446275

It's same as Chevy and other Gm products Ca. 1955 - 1973 that i konw of. Probably still used to this day. Go to nearest discount auto parts store.

The "C" clip or horse shoe clip is rather wide and soft so it can be squeezed with a pair of pliers to retain it. It is WIDE so that it will not interfere withthe hole in the shoe that the dowl of the e-brake lever fits thru. The hole in the shoe for the dowl is rather large to prevent binding due to rust or other debris build up. So something skinny like the standard jesus clip could hang up in the hole.

ALSO NOTE that there may be a wave washer installed either between the e-brake arm and shoe or maybe between the clip and the shoe. Seems to me like Chevy dropped that sometime early 70's tho so u probably don't need the wave washer. Packard probably didn't use it.

If you cant find one let me know as I have a couple extras as they came with my brake hardware kits, and obviously I didnt need the ones that came with the front kit.

It's referred to a horseshoe clip. I am sure your local parts store would have one.
