If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

I'd haul it off for that, but I suspect that they want me to pay them.

Interesting blanked off quarter windows and there was another restored one like that that I saw somewhere a couple years ago.

I guess being a limo, they'd want more privacy.....

Yes, I am aware of formal limousines (as the 4-window style is known) but I didn’t know that there were any on postwar Packards except for a couple by Derham and theirs typically had padded tops. This one appears to have been blanked in at some point, either by the factory, the dealer or by some outside shop.

Bob Skop (deceased) had a 21st Series Custom Super Clipper lwb with the rear quarter windows similarly blanked off. He knew the history and I've forgotten most of it but the car was sold new to a state government motor pool, perhaps TN or NC. I don't recall any identification of who did the conversion. By the time Bob owned it the engine had been replaced with a 282 or perhaps a 288. There are photos of it in the Eastern Packard Club archives.

At one confused point in my life, I bought a 22 series lwb 7 passenger sedan. IT was blue on blue with blue - can you say blue? It had a lot more cancer than I was capable of dealing with at the time, and I had way more want to than money. Buying it was a poor decision, yet nobody in my life at the time said it was. Finally found a guy to buy it for just about what I had put into it to buy it, and that was as good as I was gonna get.

It dawned on me years later that driving that thing would have risked the sheet metal every trip out of the driveway.

I'm glad to have lived through that time and some of the ones which followed. I'm in a much better place now.

Long week. Weekend shot - working straight through. Deadlines can be a bitch.

Another rainy Sunday. Even Fred is ducking the water.

Worked 13 days in a row. Supposed to be off tomorrow, but a jobsite malfunction will mean showing up. Again. Vacation is next, thank the gods. Get a bit of Old Car time.
