Yes, always been an idea once Holley made a 2gc EFI kit and I'm finally just now getting to it.

Thanks for the kind words! I just meant the welds aren't perfect and the grinding job isn't precise. The holes for the studs are bit wonky. In person you can tell, in pictures its not too bad. On the car it looks fine and should function. But for hand made, with no CNC machine or drill press, etc....I think its pretty decent. The aluminum spacer came from Dashman. I use that so the butterflies on the 2gc unit would open correctly.

The Air cleaner technically fits as is, but the clamping mechanism doesn't allow it to sit flat, so there would need to be some modification. the ring at the top of the 2gc is not solid all the way around like on the WDO, so with it not sitting flat it allows unfiltered air in. cut down the clamping mechanism and it will sit flat, but I'm not sure i want to do that just yet. Also I'm not sure about running an oil bath cleaner and it messing with the MAF sensor. Overly Oiled K&N filters can do the same thing and mess up the MAF. If i can get my hands on a spare oil bath and can modify it for paper element and to sit correctly, I could do that. The height is maybe 1" over stock, but to my eyes it's not noticeable. Thanks for the photo....don't have facebook...so didn't know it was posted.

Yes, mostly driving the car as is, but i've been very busy on my 70 Dodge Dart. My father is in poor health and i'm trying to get it done soon. mini tub...new interior....new 408 N/A 600hp stroker....new front K member with coilovers...new dash...etc. Motor wont be done till August and i just got the suspension i ordered in December. so, while i was waiting on parts for the Dart and because the Packard decide to throw a fuel leak in the hard line...literally after it was parked in the garage from that parade....i saw that as an opportunity to dive into this conversion.

Looks great Hank! I’m a full on purist, and I’ll be the first to say, purists be damned! Interested to hear how it works!

one of the areas i will have to work on is the sending unit/tank line. thinking about trying to find another bolt down sending unit with a output and return line already on it. haven't looked too close yet, but if anyone comes across something let me know. my gas gauge is junk and never works right with the 12v to 6v converter and i think i fried it leaving the key on. time for a replacement sender and modern gauge i think.

Also impressed.
Doubt you will find anything in aftermarket senders that has the proper shaped tubing and float to reach the tank bottom like the original sender but wonder if KM Lifestylesmykmlifestyle.com/Packard_Fuel_Sender.html could custom make you something with the return added. If your gauge just needs the correct power to work might try a Runtz Voltage drop unitfifthaveinternetgarage.com/electrical_parts.php but if it is actually shot then you could also have the proper resistance for a modern gauge such as one of the retrofit or vintage types sold by Autometerautometer.com/gauges/antique-beige.html or Classic Instruments.shop.classicinstruments.com/universal-fit-gauge-sets built into the sender. I believe Classic will also custom make a gauge with a face that will match the old originals. Several have recently had KM build an original type repro sender and from reports posted so far, the price is not outrageous and they seem to work well. Tinman_70 put one of the Autometer gauge sets in his 49 during the conversion to 12v and it does not look too out of place.packardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2251&start=590
