I have a working receiver and tuner
but do not have a speaker
If I find a speaker ,how do i match it
With the socket in the tuner.
I enclosed a typical receiver for a 1940
that shows the speaker socket
How do I get this to work with a 37
Does anyone know ?

ual for the 37 radio like the one i have 'for the 40 ?See enclosed manual

For the manual, do you find any numbers to identify the radio as to brand and number? The Packard PA-xxxxxx accessory number is one usually found on an outside label and some of the schematics list by that number. There should also be a manufacturer's model number sometimes on a sticker stuck on the tube chassis or could be on an outside label. Other schematics use that number.

Philco was the mfg Packard most often used and their numbers were generally in a P-xxxx format but Packard also used other mfgs who might have a different format.

Just now reading this post as I am installing a receiver and controller head in my 37 1023. Have not been able to get info on wiring. Any help? Two cut off wires coming out of control head and one out of receiver unit. 1887 mike

Nivek123, what model Packard do you have? Junior or Senior?

1887mike, I am attaching information that I have. Exactly where is the wire on the box? Please attach a picture or confirm if it is exactly like the picture I have posted.

My wire from the receiver box is exactly the same as your post. The dash control head has two wires coming from the one-off volume switch. My car is a 1937 senior model closed sedan 1023.

If nothing at Nostalgia then there are vendors such as AG Tannenbaumagtannenbaum.com who might have and still sell photocopies of factory diagrams and/or aftermarket service info. They will also need the manufacturer and the chassis number and sometimes the PA number. Tannenbaum's website home page apparently has not been updated in almost 10 years but it is active so they may still be in business.

OK..Here is the skivvy..

The Receiver has two wires ...power and antenna.
The control head has two wires. The one on the top of the unit goes to the receiver and provides power.
The one on the bottom goes to a toggle switch in the right glove box (which is a secure control of the power.)

The power path is this:
Power from the amp meter to an SFE 20A fuse holder.
From the fuse holder to the toggle switch.
From the toggle switch to the top of the control unit.
From the bottom of the control unit to the receiver box.
