The right side fender went on today. (Damn, it banged it while getting ready to hang!) Anyway, I'm very happy about how things are l@@king underneath there, as the full flow filter lines from the HV Olds (Melling) pump modification are nearly all hidden now. (Where could hide the oil cooler?)

Since Kevin is not going to run a road course or Bonneville, he does not need an oil cooler. Separate trans cooler, which I believe he has, but not an oil cooler.

Well that is his decision to make. however if i put that much effort into the conversion and full flow set-up i'd want an oil cooler too. especially since Every v/8 packard i have had has always ran with what i have felt was unreasonable high oil temps. But that is just MY OPINION!

I will have to see if i can find my notes on it or take a fresh temp reading next time i work on the dragon. but every one of them i have owned has ben so hot you can't check the oil if it's been ran cause it will burn the crap out of you! yet you can lay your hand on the engine it's self and not even think it's warm. Hell one time in disbelief i just put my hand on one of the manifolds and it wasn't as hot ! every customer car i have worked on has been the same way. I know several other owners who feel the same way, but just said it's the nature of the beast.

It's common knowledge that any fluid under pressure will create heat. Never had any oil burn me except on a turbocharged car though.
