got it all welded up and ground down and buffed and blended and i think they turned out quite well.

set my poor painter loose on the frame to sandblast the whole thing and then proceed to epoxy prime the frame and then apply several coats of slicksand to fill the rather deep pits in the frame and prep it so it will look perfect. we did sparingly use the odd touch of filler to smooth some of the really badly pited areas that weren't bad enough to warrent clad welding or patching but too deep to fill with primer.

I'm really impressed! You're very handy and the work looks great. I can only begin to think what indignities that poor car must have suffered over the years to have such deep rust on the frame members.
Just a comment if you're interested in complete authenticity - frames were normally painted with the cheapest black slop available, a semi-gloss. Yes, even on a Twelve.
