Pre-War Backup Light Bracket

I'm looking for the bracket that attaches the accessory backup light to the bumper iron. If not the bracket, then a good clear picture of one so I can try to fabricate one.

I have the light itself, I just need the bracket itself.

For reference, this is the light I am referring to, and where it mounts.

Good idea!
Do you run that on a toggle switch? I imagine that there is no way to do it on the shifter is there?

Looking at the 1933-1936 Parts Lists, page 173, there is a backup-light switch assembly for the transmission.

Part # 215371.

I couldn't find a reference to a backup light in the 37-41 List, yet.

Actually I see Max Merrit has a bracket, I'll order it from them.

Here is what the bracket looks like. Fred Bruner is currently looking to see if he has one in stock.

The trans-mounted backup light switch is not applicable to the cane shift cars as there is no external linkage to trigger the switch from. So those would need an under-dash switch

Was there a separate part list for accessories? I ask as I do not see any backup lights in the 35-41 Part List.

Max Merrit lists the group numbers as different backup light parts under 4.1250, 4.1254, 4.1259 & 4.1268.

The copy of my above parts list doesn't have those group numbers.

That's why I thought it was a clever addition as it does not list as an accessory for the 120 either. Part numbers in my parts list correspond with yours, jumps from 4.1216 to 4.1300.
I am still going to do it on my car. Backing into the garage is always better with a light, I wear photo-gray lenses so even on a bright sunny day the garage is pretty dark without the lights on. I plan on adding an indicator lamp that glows when you have the back-up lamp lit, that way it shows on the dash as a reminder. Heck, we already have to remember to cancel the turn signals!

Max ended up not having anymore. So I made my own based on their picture. Cost less than $10 to make with steel left over.

In future, this document may help with accessories available in 1940.
