This was made to use the Packard trunk with fitted luggage. So really, only the fitted luggage needed to come out of the trunk at the hotel. So the trunk stayed with the car.

My previously owned 115C's trunk was fastened to the rack with two leather straps. It was fairly easy to mount and remove the trunk from the rack. The trunks provided for more badly needed storage and were not meant to be mounted all the time. Personally, I think these cars look better with the rack folded, and the cars with racks look better than those without. I was going to post some photos but system would not allow for the upload. I will try again.

Ok, renamed the photos and they were successfully uploaded. The trunk was an after market type. Nice one and it also had a cover (not shown) made from the same material as the top.
