When I did mine, I "borrowed" my wife's electric carving knife to bevel/ taper all the edges. Especially the back edge.

Thanks. I figured something like that might be needed, but wasn't sure of a practical tool to use.

Polishing my dash bezels. Of course, the polishing often strips the paint. An extremely easy solution I found to this is to get black acrylic paint, the kind that’s literally a dollar for a bottle at Walmart. Paint the letters, don’t worry about overpainting. After 5-10min, just wipe the excess away with your finger. Excellent result with near zero effort or skill required.

By far the most trivial repair I have ever made a video on...

Picked up this interesting accessory a number of years ago and finally have a car fit to put it on!

Took a shot at aesthetically repairing my rear ashtrays. Considering that the materials used to repair this specific one total about ONE DOLLAR, and considering the heavy pitting / terrible initial condition, I think it looks pretty good.

Here's a before and after. (Yes technically it's opposite sides but who's counting.)

Really nice looking considering how inexpensive it was. Lot of elbow grease though

That was a nice save. What did you do for the flaking chrome? Silver paint? And I'm impressed with how well that vinyl cleaned up. It didn't look terribly saveable in the first picture.

You could nickel them on the cheap.

I've been looking into that. I'm probably going to grab some cheap stuff to copper plate first, then nickel plate. But I need to do more research to figure out exactly what equipment I need. I'd like to replate a lot of my smaller bits and I think I can do it myself.
