That is a 54 only motor and relay box which had a two relays in the enclosure used for reversing instead of the separate but oppositely wound field coils most of the postwar Packard reversible motors thru 56 had. I think it might have been sourced from Autolite. Don't remember ever seeing one up close and have not been able to find a Packard wire diagram for that optional all electric seat. It would be 6v so I would consider that setup to be relatively rare. Some Ford products used the same motor/relay setup for both seats and windows.

Road trip. Today.

Out to our train museum. Half tank run.

Gas gauge leaving museum. Chugged fuel.

Way back it's all down hill.

It was going from head to water pump.

In traffic it would start to go passed the operating temp.

Are you bypassing the heater? If so, just plug each side.

The Jackard was bypassed as well with just a hose, which is shortcircuit of hot water back into the engine. I removed the hose barbs on the back of the motor and waterpump and replaced with pipe plugs.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. That's the way to do it and how it was done from the factory for cars without heaters, as told in p. 12 of the Accessories section of the shop manual.

Here's my reason's.

I want to coolant to circulate. So there's not an accumulation muck.

Have to fab another transition piece.

Something wrong with this motor.

Was the r.d motor

And it is a right side motor. But worked for left.

Ford motor going in .

My set screws for Packard gear. We're loose.. so will have to stake them.

The new adapter that goes on motor. Going to put a roll pin in
And set screws.
