I am also looking for a 12 or 13 lb pressure cap. My 1953 has a 1" deep filler neck, not the standard 3/4" that most other vehicle brands seem to have used.
Does anyone have a 13 lb. cap cross-reference number that will work for this 1" depth? (Or a good used cap to sell?)
I can find 13 lb/3/4" depth caps, and 7 lb/1" depth caps, but not the 13 lb/1" variety.
I believe the numbers listed in the Packard cross-reference list are for 3/4" depth. (Did Packard use both 3/4" and 1" deep radiator necks from 51-54? Both radiators I have are 1" deep).
Many thanks for the assistance, as always.

I haven't had to go looking for a radiator cap for my 53 Cavalier, but it does have a 1" filler neck as well. When I look at a couple of the radiator caps on the cross-reference list for a 53 they are for a 3/4" neck. Maybe something that should be reviewed and updated, unless some 53's did have a 3/4" neck. Max Merritt lists a radiator cap for $50. Ouch!

Yes, the Velvac catalog only has 4 and 7 lb at 1” depth.

A RC-6 is a 13lb cap. The specs show a cap depth of 24.4mm which .961 inches.

I looked at that as well, but the filler neck height is shown as 19.5 mm or 3/4". I think 24.4 mm is the total cap height.
