Good catch, Ross.

2T300, I happen to mention this (and the consequences) in my video at around the 16 minute mark. It just so happened that the trans I was disassembling had that exact problem (though mine was misadjusted, not missing).

P.S. Some blue Loctite on that bolt would be a good idea.

Thanks for mentioning that. The old setup did not have that and I hadn't made one. I adjusted the linkage to prevent it from going that far.

I watched your video again to see the stop piece. Looks easy enough to fab one up and install.... Added to list today!

Check out the pawl I removed... Kinda explains some of the sticking in park problem? Not sure what that extra folded piece of metal is in there, but definitely was stopping the roller from rolling...

And yes, I use the high temp thread locker on that bolt for sure!

August 2024 - Ultramatic rebuild installed, not yet operational:

Rebuild went well and took longer than anticipated (but expected).
All recommended upgrades etc were performed, special thanks to HPH and the Ross Speedwell garage videos.
Main snag was rebuilding the reactor shaft assy, and waiting for parts.

Reactor shaft assy had to be assembled with the shaft in place while properly orienting the sprags. Then the top spring, washer and lock plate installed. Worked perfectly after that!

Installed new parking pawl/manual lever shaft, and completely new valve body.

Install back into the car went fine. Followed the manual for the 7 qt fill, then startup. Noticed the fluid level was high on the stick while running indicating no fluid movement. Ran thru a series of tests thinking the front pump was not primed, no avail.

Positive note: it no longer sticks in park! It locks, stays locked on sloped driveway, and easily releases.

Next, I'll try swapping back to the old valve body to test prior to pulling the trans once again...

In the meantime, I found a local shop that does media blasting/painting. Should be lined up for that next once this issue is fixed.
