Carrier with casting number 319965 is from a 1939 to 1941 120 so likely that a complete rear axle has been installed in place of the original angleset type

It was probably done to get a better gear ratio.

I do have the angle-set type should anyone need one but it would need the proper housing in order to be of any use! This was in one of my 1940 Packards (maybe my original ended up in yours!) and has been out of the car and in the garage since the ‘60s but the condition is unknown.
