In my case, the lock working isn’t really a necessity, but I really would like to get it working.

Okay….here are a couple of photos of the inside of the door handle that has the working cylinder (removed). I have concluded that the issue with the other cylinder not turning more than 45 to 60 degrees cannot be due to a stuck tumbler. If a tumbler were stuck, the cylinder could not rotate at all as they fit in the handle grooves at top and bottom. The only way the cylinder could rotate as far as it does is by all tumblers clearing these slots. So, I believe the issue must be the part of the mechanism in the door handle being frozen.

I’m not exactly sure how that works, but I have removed the handle and turned it on end to see if I can get PB blaster all the way down into the mechanism to soak.

Well, it didn’t take the PB Blaster very long with the handle turned so this it all ran down inside….SUCCESS…it took some gentle persuasion, but the cylinder turned to the locked position and then freed up with a little exercise. Then, I was able to remove the cylinder as well. Now, I should be able to get it good and clean!

Brake clean the bejesus out of it to remove any old dirt, grit, and grease.

WD-40 makes a spray dry PPTE (telflon) that I use on items when you don't want it attract dust and dirt. Works a jiffy on hinges as latch mechanisms as well.

My 54's hood never opened as easy until I sprayed the hinges with it.

I’m ahead of you this time! After the PB Blaster, I filled it with WD-40 to really work things loose. Then I used the brake cleaner to really flush it out. After that, I used Boeshield T9 that I use on my bikes. It was developed by Boeing and has cleaning agents. It goes on wet, but then dries to a long lasting dry lube. It works great on my bike chains as well as everything else I’ve used it on.

After getting my door lock working, my OCD kicked in regarding my glove box and trunk being keyed differently. My original glove box cylinder was broken and I had found another one with keys last year. Tonight, I pulled the glove box cylinder out and filed the tumblers to match up to my original trunk key. The trunk and glove box are now once again keyed alike.

Okay…back to my request for information on the leaf springs. I suspect that the springs for my 138 are dimensionally the same as a 120 and just the weight and rate ratings are different. I have the ratings from the parts list.

For anyone with a 120C or 120CD, can you provide dimensions?

Then, I’ll follow up with Henry to get dimensions from his 138.

If they are the same, it will save me the cost (and time) of having to send my springs in as a sample to have new ones made.

Hi Don,
Here is what I can get from lying on my back with a measuring tape and calipers.
